Module 4 Lesson 5

Watch the video and read the information below. These are key strategies for this test.

We know there isn’t really such a thing as luck, per se; however, when things get real on the ACT and you are out of time, it is time to pull out your chosen Lucky Letter that will help you pick up a few more points.

Never – EVER – EVER leave a question blank on the ACT. You’re not penalized for incorrect answers on this test. Just because you did not work the question or don’t know the answer does not mean it should be left blank.

You cannot be more wrong than you would be by leaving a question blank. Even if you have no clue what the answer is, be sure to answer the question. Depending on the number of answer choices, you have a 20 – 25% chance of getting the answer correct even if you don’t know it.

How can you answer it if you don’t know it? Pick a letter that you will use every single time you have a question you cannot answer. For example, always choose letter A/H (the first answer choice) or always choose letter C/H (the third answer choice). Whatever you choose is fine, just stick with it.
