Anticipating Necessary Course Corrections

When sailing, it is important to set the course you will sail.  A good navigator knows where they are going and what could interfere with their trip.

Set Your sails to compensate for the winds, currents, and the sharks that can take you off course.  We all need a course correction at times. What could take you off course on this voyage to a successful ACT experience?

Some of those things are:

Not testing well and knowing it – all the insecurities that come with that

High school grades aren’t the best, but you decided that you want to go to college and hope the ACT will make you more attractive as a college applicant

Trying to get into a competitive school and need the best possible ACT – not sure if you can do it

Already took the ACT or the SAT and it didn’t go as well as you would have liked – now you want to make sure you’re ready for it

You haven’t taken the test yet and you or your parents just want you to be ready

In this course, we will show you strategies for how to stay calm and make the right choices.

It’s not solely about knowledge but thinking skills and knowledge working together that will bring you to your desired destination on this test. We’re going to teach you some skills that will help you get to where you want to be.

We’re going to break down the test subject by subject and look at how it is structured.  We will look at the types of questions that are asked on the ACT.

Forewarned is forearmed – familiarity with the test up front helps you to know what to expect and helps you to approach the test more calmly and well prepared.

In your journal, write down anything going on that threatens to take you off course? Take time to really think about this and be honest.  What are some tools that you already have that will help you on your voyage? Write them down in your journal.
