We all know that high test scores open doors for students. The following questionnaire will take you through some of the factors that should be considered as your teen prepares for the ACT. Take a few minutes to think through the following questions and evaluate where your student may stand in the ACT Prep Process. Are they ready to take the test and will they get the score they need for the college admission options they are hoping for and the scholarships they need?

Question 1: Has your teen taken the ACT before? If so, how did they do?

Question 2: Has your teen done any ACT prep or taken another prep course? Please explain.

Question 3: Is your teen expressing stress or concerns about taking the ACT? Do they struggle with test anxiety?

Question 4: Would your teen benefit most from a Do It Yourself course or an individualized course that offers guidance and accountability? If you think they would benefit most from an individualized course, how do you think it would help them the most?

Question 5: Is your teen motivated to improve and earn a top ACT score? What are they doing to ensure that they are ready for the test?

Question 6: What is your understanding of how the ACT factors in to a test-optional college admissions process?

Question 7: Have you researched the potential financial gain in scholarships and college admissions that your teen could receive by earning a score 4 points higher than their baseline or the average score? What about 7 or 8 points higher? Please share what you learned.

Question 8: How do you think your teem would benefit from learning skills and strategies that would help them as they prepare for the ACT, but also for life (e.g., setting SMART goals, time management, mindset, stress management, perfection vs excellence)? Has your child already mastered these skills?
